Benefits on the beach: Hawaii employer seeks benefits director

I received a job announcement recently that I absolutely had to pass along (I’m happy to post others, by the way — just email me at kelley.butler@sourcemedia.com, subject line “Job announcement: Please post to EBV). I’m not sure who wrote it, but even I was tempted to apply. Keep reading, and perhaps you will be, too—or at least can forward the link to a sun-loving, job-seeking friend. Mahalo!

***

The fresh, floral air and warm, tranquil waters of Hawaii beckon a talented Director of Benefits for one the country’s largest commercial airlines, a $1.6 billion public company that carries an average of 8 million customers a year and serves 20 domestic and international destinations in the Pacific region. In North America, it provides daily service to Hawaii from more cities than any other airline.

Aloha! A Director of Benefits opportunity waits in the land of luaus, leis and fun in the sun. Yes, you can live with sand in your toes with free-flight benefits for you and your family globally.

The new Director will offer best-in-class solutions to lead the development and execution of long-term benefit strategies with the goal to revitalize health and welfare benefits and pension and retirement savings plans for this growing 4,200-employee, union/non-union group.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of eight years of complex benefit design and administration experience including a thorough understanding of pension plans, outsourcing and union environments. He/She also will exercise excellent vendor management, change management and influencing skills.

Bachelor's degree required, graduate degree in Business (MBA) or related field preferred. All candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States and able to pass background investigation and thorough reference checking. A base salary in the low 100s plus bonus, relocation and air perks.

Please submit resume as a Word attachment and include salary history and geographic flexibility with your submission to dlf@towerconsultants.com. Refer to job code HADB in subject of email. For more information, visit www.towerconsultants.com or contact Donna Friedman at 772-288-3590.
