Would you quit your job over the ACA?

The Affordable Care Act may be the law of the land but that doesn’t mean it isn’t  causing headaches for benefits professionals. In a survey released this week by Keas, 2% of HR pros surveyed said their biggest concern about the ACA, once it’s up and running, is that they won’t want to work in HR anymore.

The No. 1 concern, meanwhile, is being overwhelmed by employee communications and questions, cited by 39%. Twenty-three percent said they had no concerns about ACA compliance.

Overall, 41% said their job is very stressful, with 6% saying their job is off-the-charts-stressful. An equal number (47%) said they experience an average/normal level of job stress.

The Keas HR Executive Survey also asked about open enrollment challenges. Educating employees about available benefits was cited by 47% of respondents, while 22% said getting employees to participate in benefits selection was their greatest OE challenge.

Benefits practitioners also shared their views on common mistakes made by CEOs:

  • 64% said CEOs are guilty of not recognizing what truly motivates employees.
  • 41% point out that CEOs fail to lead by example in the key HR initiatives deployed.
  • 32% felt that CEOs don’t make company culture enough of a priority.
