In another sign that economic recovery from the Great Recession is in motion, one of the industry’s most closely examined semi-annual predictors of sales activity gives worksite marketers cause for celebration.
About 71% of carriers, brokers and vendors responding to Eastbridge Consulting Group’s latest Voluntary Industry Confidence Index survey expect employees to give voluntary benefits an enthusiastic reception in 2010, which was up significantly from 60% a year ago. Of those polled, brokers were more sanguine than carriers, with 83% of them giving a sunny forecast.
While acknowledging that the research does not gather invaluable employee opinions, Eastbridge President Gil Lowerre said in a statement that “we do feel that those in the industry – especially brokers – have a sense of how employees are feeling so we watch this measure.”
