Just 39% of single and never-married employees have life insurance compared to 61% of all 2,071 working Americans responding to a recent online Harris Interactive survey for the Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company.
A similar gap was seen for disability insurance, which only 26% of this demographic segment said they had compared to 42% of all employees.
But most of the single and never-married employees who are enrolled in these benefits believe they will be important in the next five years (74% said this about life insurance and 71% said this about disability insurance).
