In partnership with HR associations across Canada, the U.S.- based Society for Human Resource Management will for the first time this fall be offering the Global Professional in Human Resources Certification Preparation Course and other selected SHRM Business Education courses in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal.
The SHRM Global Certification Preparation Course offered October 30-November 1/08 in Vancouver, and November 3-5/08 in Toronto, is a three-day comprehensive program that highlights content areas that may appear on the certification exam. It is designed for HR professionals with at least two years of practical HR job experience.
The primary focus is the global practice and application of human resources. Basic HR practices such as compensation, selection, legal practices and benefits will be covered briefly. Each module has a case study that demonstrates how the content is applied in practical situations.

Module 2: Global Organizational Effectiveness and Employee Development
Module 3: Global Staffing
Module 4: Global Compensation and Benefits
Module 5: International Assignment Management
Module 6: International Employee Relations and Regulations
Other Canadian programs on the fall agenda include a Toronto session September 16/08 on "Managing Individual and Corporate Change" and a November 21st Montreal seminar titled, "Attracting and Retaining Top Talent."
